They're those corners of the world that you just can't get out of your mind. Places so special, or just plain weird, that they take on their own personalities. National Geographic scoured the United States to include just such places in its ZipUSA series.
This month visit Nalcrest, Florida, a community that caters to retired letter carriersno dogs allowed. Other zips in the works range from Point Roberts, Washington, the five-square-mile (thirteen-square-kilometer) tip of an otherwise Canadian peninsula, to a special school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, that teaches its Indian students to embrace their heritage.
