They're those corners of the world that you just can't get out of your mind. Places so special, or just plain weird, that they take on their own personalities. National Geographic scoured the United States to include just such places in its ZipUSA series.
This month visit Athens, Ohio, and 114 photography students who are on a one-day mission to document their small rural town.
Other zips in the works range from an Idaho town that's home to spud farmers and skateboarders to Oklahoma City's Little Saigon.
