When Carri Met Joe
Photograph by Landon Nordeman
Eleven years ago, Joe Robertson owned a motel in Whitehall, Montana, and Carri was its 18-year-old manager. "We had the same interest in horses and dogs, and we fell in love," says Joe. They built a cabin in the mountains, where they now raise quarter horses and rottweiler puppies. Their age differenceJoe is now 64, Carri 29never mattered much to them, or to their neighbors in Basin, says Joe. "People here don't judge you, and they don't expect to be judged back."
