A shaman in the Tuvan capital of Kyzyl performs a ceremony for a woman suffering from chronic headaches. Though Tuvans are not ethnically related to Scythians—who are believed to have belonged to the Iranian language group—they do share a heritage of shamanism. Local shamans have complained that the excavation of Arzhan-2 has disturbed ancient spirits.
