Saying "I Do" to a Taste of Tradition

Oklahoma may be cattle country, but prime rib was definitely not on the menu at the wedding reception of Chilan and Kevin Nguyen, who indulged in a seven-course Vietnamese feast including roasted pigeon and fried flounder. After the meal Kevin and Chilan chatted with guests, who, following Vietnamese tradition, offered the young couple advice on life and love. "My favorite," said Kevin, "was one of Chilan's relatives who said that our duty and purpose in life is to teach our children to be moral." |
