The Old Made New Photograph by Larry Nighswander
Driving down rural Route 33 in Athens County, Alex Fledderjohn spotted an irresistible target: An old barn-cum-billboard for Mail Pouch Tobacco bathed in morning light. Turns out it was the Last Chance Corral, a holding pen for unwanted horses waiting for adoption. "There was a guy doing repairs on the roof," says Fledderjohn, "so I pulled over and asked if I could make some pictures." (Anyone who says "make" some pictures is a photographer to the bone.) |
