To get a different angle on Mount Fuji and the surrounding countryside, some try paraglidingor fishing, boating, cave exploring, even bathing in a geothermal spring. While such regional diversions may not resonate with the same deep meaning as a hike up Fuji itself, they still lure hordes of tourists who seek no higher purpose than simply to hang out. |
