Den Mother Photograph by Antti Leinonen
Having left her two young unattended for several hours, a mother rushes back to the den. Wolverines are fast enough to run down a reindeer, strong enough to swim across a river, and agile enough to scale a tree. They move day and night to hunt, usually for moles, hares, and small birds. They also scavenge dead animals, but must stay alert in case a bear or wolfboth natural enemiescomes to claim the same carcass. |
