A tapir peeks through the brush in Costa Ricas Corcovado National Park, a protected rain forest on the Pacific coast. Weighing as much as 700 pounds (320 kilograms), tapirs provide an ample supply of meat for jaguars, though their sheer size sometimes makes them a difficult kill.
