Standing tall at the center of Akhenatens once flourishing capital city, now known as Amarna, a replica column has been erected where a temple colonnade once stood. The Small Aten Templea wall from its southern edge visible in the foregroundwas testament to the adoption of single-god worship by an Egyptian king. An armed guard walks the grounds to protect the site.
