Bioarchaeologist Alana Cordy-Collins of the University of San Diego carefully removes small copper plates that adorned a garment worn by a Moche nobleman buried at Dos Cabezas between A.D. 450 and 550. The garment was one of numerous articles of metal finery found in the tomb that were crafted from copper, silver, and gold.
